JI Ping: Mostar Fair is an important link for economic cooperation in the Western Balkans
As part of the preparations for the organization of the 23rd Mostar International Economic Fair 2020, to be held from 31 March to 4 April next year, a working meeting between the delegation of the People's Republic of China, led by Chinese Ambassador to BiH Ji Ping and Dalfina Bošnjak, Mostar Fair Director, was held at the Mostar Fair premises. It has been known for several years in a row that exhibitors from the PR Chine take an important place in Mostar's economy fair and that China, which was partner country this year, is one of the most successful countries among exhibitors.
However, the cooperation between Mostar Fair and the People's Republic of China is not over, on the contrary, the partnership has strengthened the connection between the People's Republic of China and BiH, and next year the Chinese economy will be largely represented in Mostar. Otherwise, the partner country of the next fair will be Hungary, which is also intensively preparing to come to Mostar.
- This year, our partner country was the People's Republic of China, which presented its exceptional economic potential. As the organizers, we are extremely happy and proud that BiH has been recognized by the Chinese through the Mostar Fair. And that they expressed great interest in investing in BiH, and also due to the fact that our businessmen found partners in the PR Chine and have already exported products from BiH to China. Thanks to the Excellency Ji Ping for expressing his desire today, at the Mostar Fair for our cooperation to continue. The Liaoning Province, which has a population of about 50 million, will participate in the events at the Mostar Fair next year. On this occasion, we will organize, no more 16 + 1 forum, but 17 + 1 forum "One Belt, One Way" because the Greece joined in the meantime in this project of the Government of the PR China - said director Bošnjak.
China is very interested in investing in BiH, which was confirmed by the ambassador of the most populous country, Ji Ping.
- Mostar Fair represents an important link for economic cooperation in the Western Balkans. Currently, China is working on preparing and organizing the arrival of companies and exhibitors at the 23rd Mostar International Economic Fair in order to achieve more productive results at the next fair - said Ji Ping. China is turning to imports and will further reduce import tariffs, which is a great opportunity for the BiH economy.
"China is opening up to the world and inviting all countries for cooperation, including BiH, to embark on a high-speed train and free ride on China's economic development," Ambassador Ji Ping said.
China is an economic partner with 100 countries in the world, with Chinese companies building part of the highway near Počitelj in Herzegovina as well as the Pelješac Bridge in neighboring Croatia. PR China has a population of nearly 1.4 billion; 64,000 have visited BiH this year, which is an increase of 102 percent. Each Chinese tourist leaves an average of 1250 KM for their stay. However, economic relations between China and BiH are stagnant this year. According to statistics from Chinese customs authorities, the volume of bilateral trade between China and BiH amounted to the $ 145 million from January to September this year, which is 2.68 percent less than the last year.
